Man of war by greensap
Man of war
Just around from durdledoor, I swam across the bay, there's some really amazing seaweed that brushes against your chest and legs as you swim, like it's going to tangle and drag you down ... Oh that's not a nuke going off just a beautiful cloud ...:D

I`ve taken thousands of photo`s, over the last ten years, mostly so I could use them as reference  in my  ArtWork. But for one reason or another they have laid unseen on the hard-drive. So I`ve decided to slowly upload a few to "The Scrape-book gallery" ... :D

Unfortunately I`ve had a writ, from She who must be Obeyed , duties to moving walls back, and floor laying, has to be done, before my daughters Wedding ...   soo not too much time to paint recently ...Thanks to all that visit my gallery, your comments are much appreciated...:D

I just listened through an excellent Swedish audio book of "The Hobbit", as a part of my warm-up for the December film event. Of course, I also have to pop into your Middle-Earth gallery once in a while, and cheer myself up too :)

Hi Richard ...how does the Hobbit in Swedish, compared to the English version. I can`t wait for December either, after watching all of Jackson video blogs ...:D

There are two version now, an older translation, which everyone grew up with, and a new one. I think the old one holds up very well (haven't read the new). Like in the original Swedish translation of "The Lord of the Rings", many names of characters and places aren't corrctly translated, but does correlate poetically, so to speak. Tolkien was terrible upset by this and had a fallout with Swedish translator Åke Ohlmarks, who responded by writing a book which accused all Tolkien fans to be perverts, devil-worshippers and such.
But having re-read "The Hobbit" I've started thinking about how Jackson & co will depict all the action as well as the emotional scenes, and I think the films will blow people's socks off. I think those who may have thought that the first three films dragged a bit will love "The Hobbit". Apparently they will show a lot of what's only briefly mentioned in the book, like when the three wizards chuck Sauron out of Mirkwod. And there's a Swede playing Beorn -Mikael Persbrandt!
